To all Ugly Betty fans, if you ever miss an episode or would like a sneak preview of the next show go to ABC, they do a awesome job and provide fans a short video of the most current episode and they also provide a hint of the next show to come!
I recently came across a post from another Ugly Betty fan on the ABC forums. Going by the name Shenbrat, she/he posted a very interesting hypothesis of Hilda’s birth: “Ignacio says he and Rosa came to the USA 30 years ago. Well a lease from December ‘77 for their first apartment in America is less than 30 years ago. Hilda is already 30 (she said that on an episode early this year). Could she have been the child of Rosa and her first husband? Was she even born in the USA? When Ignacio has to prove how long he’s been here Hilda’s birth certificate should have been much more handy than a lease for an apartment that was rented a little over 29 years ago (unless she isn’t a natural born citizen). On that note-what would be the legal ramifications for Hilda if she was brought over as an infant/toddler?” MMM, what a good point! Do you think this was a mistake from the writers and producers? Or a great intro to another story line? Great job Shenbrat on your the observations and thanks for letting us in on your thoughts!!!!

You can’t say this wouldn’t be fun - watching Ugly Betty with people who share the love of the show. At the Northern News they’re reporting on a group of Ugly Betty fans who got together to watch the second season premier.
… in this case, it’s a gathering to discuss the portrayal of women.
“The show is not a true reflection of Latino women,” said Das Neves. “There’s too much emphasis on the superficial.”
I’m not sure that is totally accurate. I mean, we could look at it as a case of being superficial - but they’re working in a fashion/modeling industry - of course they’re going to have some focus on the superficial.
In the Colombian version, called “I am Ugly Betty,” the main character is very ugly but intelligent, said Das Neves.
Susana Das Neves, is the assistant director of the Latino Resource Center. I suppose everyone comes to this at a different angle. But I think the show is doing a great job. Sometimes, I think people just need to let it go - and just enjoy it for what it is and not read into it so much.

I love it when I come across fans of Ugly Betty, and Molly is just the girl to do it. Nothing beats an honest re-cap.
OH MY GOSH ON UGLY BETTY I DIDN’T KNOW IF HELGA’S FIANCEE SANTO’S WAS GOING TO DIE. SO AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOW THEY MADE IT SEEM THAT HE WAS ALIVE BUT AT THE END OF THE SHOW WE FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS JUST HER IMAGINATION!!!!!!! I REALLY WANTED HIM TO STAY ALIVE I WAS CRYING AND FEELING MAD AT UGLY BETTY PRODUCERS AND WRITERS BUT I AM STILL GOING TO WATCH THE SHOW!
… also the emphasis of the show - really speaks volumes when it’s in ALL CAPS
I AM SOOOOO HAPPY BECAUSE HENRY CAME BACK FOR BETTY YAY!!!!!!
